First Christian Church of El Dorado is a family of believers in central Kansas. Our Commitment is to follow Jesus and help other do the same. Jesus gave us a great mission as expressed to Peter: “Come follow me…and I will make you fishers of men” (Mt. 4:19). We know following Jesus can be a challenge. Building our relationship with God together with other believers, learning from God’s Word, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives makes this possible.
Our motto is Come, Grow, and Go. At First Christian we are a church where you can Come as you are to seek out the God of the Bible while being surrounded by people who care about you. Here you can Grow in your faith, love and knowledge of the God of the Bible while interacting with others who are on the same path. Finally, at First Christian you will be empowered to Go out into the world and light the way for others who need to experience God in their lives.
First Christian Church is an independent Christian Church with ties to the Restoration Movement. We agree that we are not only Christians, but Christians in terms of following Christ. The restoration movement strives to speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent where the Bible remains silent – in other words we don’t make up our own rules sice the Bible is sufficient in guiding our lives. In fact, we state there is no book but the Bible; no creed but Christ; no name but the divine Name. When it comes to living out our faith, in essentials (doctrine) we believe in unity; in non-essentials (opinions) liberty; in all things love! In terms of essential doctrines…
WE BELIEVE
- The Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
- That there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His victorious and atoning death, through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
- That for salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential.
- In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by who’s indwelling the Christan is enabled to live a godly life.
- In the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
